by Vadim Elfimtsev, Folk Instruments Faculty
My name is Vadim Elfimov. I was born in 1987 in a family of railroad workers. My hometown is
Stepnogorsk, which is located in Northern Kazakhstan. From my early childhood I was fond of music. At the age of nine I started the bayan and piano. In the summer of 2003 my family moved to Voronezh. Being inspired by my success in the music school, I entered the Voronezh Musical College. Four years of my studying there were the best years of my life - the years of hopes, discoveries, journeys, impressions, victories and… failures, too. At that time I had a dream to enter the Gnesins Russian Academy of Music.
So, my dream came true: now I am a third-year-student of this prominent educational institution. I am studying in the Folk Instruments Faculty. I am interested in classical music, especially symphonic. My favorite composer is Gustav Mahler and my favorite conductor is Leonard Bernstein. Also I enjoy reading interesting books, travelling,  having conversations with  interesting people. Most of all I am afraid of the life style, when all days are alike. I hope my future is bright and unpredictable, with memorable impressions and always with something to think over…
